(p. 4)
All of the appliances (with the exception of the stove) are camouflaged by cabinetry. The homeowner greatly enjoys having her freezer and refrigerator as separate units because it helps deal with a frustration all cooks feel. I love having a freezer thats not attached to my refrigerator because Im able to open the door and see stuff instead of having stuff packed in front of other stuff, she says. Another unique feature of the kitchen is the wall treatment. The walls are covered with a hand painted color wash streaked with gold that Mugavero says catches the light at different times of the day, creating warmth and depth to the space. Personal touches also extend to the cabinet pulls. Among the egg shaped oil rubbed bronze pulls are the occasional cowboy boot, which adds a little whimsy, says the homeowner. Everyone involved from the designers to homeowners are very pleased with the kitchen that resulted from their collaboration. Its a very warm, inviting space, says Saunders. The homeowner echos her sentiments. We love, love, love it. |
